COMMON CORE STANDARD: 7.EE4a- Solve word problems leading to equations of the form px + q = r and p(x + q) = r, where p, q, and r are specific rational numbers. Solve equations of these forms fluently. Compare an algebraic solution to an arithmetic solution, identifying the sequence of the operations used in each approach. For example, the perimeter of a rectangle is 54 cm. Its length is 6 cm. What is its width?
ASSIGNMENT: EQUATIONS TEST
1. Rewrite the standard in your own words and explain how it relates to the assignment.
Rewritten standard- Solve word problems with equations, fluently, in the form of px + q = r and p(x + q) = r where p, q, and r are specific rational numbers. Compare an algebraic answers with the arithmetic answers while being able to use PEMDAS in each expression.
The equation's test relates to the standard because the purpose of this test was to solve for the variable in the equation. On this test, there was a word problem that wanted us to draw out a bar diagram and write an equation that was equivalent to the bar diagram. Using that equation, we had to solve for x. This whole test was about solving for x in equations.

2. What are the steps you took to complete and do well on this assignment?
In order to do well on this test, I studied and went over the questions. I reviewed my notes and talked to my partner for help. I took my time to understand and solve the questions that I didn't know. I paid attention in class when we reviewedor our test.
3. This assignment demonstrates the following strengths....
This test demonstrates the strength of understanding of solving for equations solving for the variable x. It also shows the strength of knowing how to combine like terms using visual models.
4. I could have improved my work on this assignment by.....
I could have improved my work on this assignment by trying harder to understand the topic and asking more questions. I could have also done better by checking my signs and making sure i used the coreect property.
5. How will you apply the skills you used in this assignment in either the real world, when you are an adult, or in other classes while you are still a student?
I will use this skill in future years. Solving for equations is a ig part of algebra and I will use it to get good grades. I will also use this skill to teach my cousin math when she gets to seventh grade.
