personal statement
I deserve to promote from eight grade to the next grade level for many reasons. Have you ever noticed that some people can get perfect scores with almost no effort. Well, I'm not one of them. My test scores perfectly reflect whether I studied or not. Because of this, I have no choice but to try my best. There are also reasons like my grades and on target status that I think I should promote.
I personally think that I am a very optimistic person. I try to be the best I can be and persevere through all the events thrown at me. There are times in life where things take a wrong turn and make you stumble. When these events happen, I try to find the best way around it and stay on track. I always try my best and try to do the most I can to benefit myself. When I get low test scores, I try to find teachers and take retakes. I take the time and effort to do what's best for myself.
One of my main priorities, since I was young, was to succeed in life. I've always wanted to get a stable job and live not having to worry about money. I know that in today's society, education is a big part to success. I take my education very seriously and I always try to get good grades. I have been on target for the entire year with "A"s in all of my classes. I also read all eight books and completed study island before it was due. Despite the fact that I was very behind on books during the first semester of the year, I quickly caught up and ended my year strong. I worked hard to get good test scores as well. On the last final of the year, I got a score of 97% on the math final and scored relatively high in all my other classes as well.
There were some parts of the year that did not end up as I expected as well. The main thing that didn’t work out very well for me is community service. For eight grade students, the requirement was to complete 20 hours in total. As for me, I only got 15 hours completed. I am disappointed with myself but I now know how important community service is and I plan to continue to do it even more starting now. I am regretting not taking the time to complete it and is reflecting on it. I think the main reason for me not completing it is completely my fault and think that I should have completed it.
Every year of school is different for me and I can see the changes within myself and the things around me. Despite these changes, I think I deserve to promote because of my effort. I know that I did not exceed the expatiations of the school, I gave my fullest on the things that I did complete. I received good grades and was on target for the entire year. I also completed my reading and study island requirements as well. These were all things I achieved because I tried my best and didn’t give up. I think I deserve to promote for these specific reasons.
